Thailand Rises as ASEAN’s Sports Hub: “SPORTEC Thailand 2026” Set to Launch

Thailand is rising as the sports hub of ASEAN with the launch of SPORTEC Thailand 2026, set to take place from June 25–27, 2026 at BITEC, Bangkok. Organized by SPORTEC BKK Co., Ltd. and co-located with Thailand Wellness & Healthcare Expo 2026, the event will cover more than 10,000 square meters and is expected to generate over 250 million baht in economic value, attracting more than 25,000 visitors from Thailand and abroad.

Mr. Wittaya Lau, Managing Director of SPORTEC BKK Co., Ltd., emphasized that Thailand’s sports and fitness industry is expanding rapidly, driven by a growing health-conscious lifestyle. Research shows the industry is valued at 218 billion baht in 2025–2026, growing nearly 7% annually, while the fitness sector alone has surged by 18%, worth over 12 billion baht. He noted that Thailand is evolving from a consumer market into a true regional hub for sports, fitness, and wellness business.

Statistics reveal that 44.4% of Thais aged 15 and above exercise regularly, and over 60% use fitness services. The Department of Business Development reported 957 registered fitness service companies in 2024. Meanwhile, the ASEAN fitness club market is valued at 94 billion baht, and the Asia-Pacific sports equipment market is projected to grow at 8.1% annually, potentially reaching 7 trillion baht in the future.

SPORTEC Thailand 2026 will feature 150 booths from 6 countries—Thailand, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Pakistan—alongside global brands such as Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Precor, Keiser, ZIVA, DHZ Fitness, and Fairtex. Exhibits will showcase advanced fitness technologies, rehabilitation equipment, and innovative sports solutions.

The event will also host competitions and workshops including ONTRACK RACEON functional fitness, Rookie Contest Thailand, Barre Workout, and sessions from Zumba, Pilates Fest, The Key Yoga, and Fit Thailand. More than 30 seminars will cover fitness business trends, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and sports medicine. The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Sports Authority of Thailand, and leading private-sector partners.

By joining forces with the Thailand Wellness & Healthcare Expo 2026, the event will present over 22 highlight zones covering health, beauty, wellness, sports, fitness, spa, nutrition, healthy food, medical technology, and future fitness innovations. Visitors can expect immersive workshops, product showcases, and networking opportunities throughout the three-day event.

For entrepreneurs, investors, and health enthusiasts, SPORTEC Thailand 2026 is more than just a trade show—it is a comprehensive convergence of sports, fitness, health, and wellness industries, propelling Thailand toward its vision of becoming the Sport & Wellness Hub of ASEAN.
